911 should be used for reporting fire, medical or police emergencies only. If the situation presents an immediate threat to you or someone else’s life, CALL 911.
Location - Where is the emergency? The location you’re calling from.
The nature of the emergency -- Police, Fire or Medical?
Medical –
Medical complaint or condition.
Are they breathing?
Are they conscious or unconscious?
Sex, age, medical history, allergies, etc.
Fire --
What's on fire? Structure, vehicle, brush, trash, etc.
If it’s a gas leak or a fire in the structure you’re calling from -- GET OUT and call 911 from a safe location!!
Police –
What is the crime?
Are there weapons involved?
How long ago?
How many people involved?
Names, person or vehicle description to include tag number if possible.
Direction and mode of travel.
Clothing description.
Anything unusual – were they carrying anything?
These are just a sampling of the questions you may be asked by the Communications Officer. The more information you can relay the better, but the most important question is the location of the emergency!
Try your best to stay calm. Speak as clearly as possible.
You may be asked to leave the area, open and/or unlock your front door or wait for responding emergency personnel.
Stay on the phone until instructed to disconnect.
Follow instructions given by the 911 dispatcher unless doing so would put you or someone else in danger.
If you have to leave or put the phone down for your safety, try to leave the phone off the hook so the Communications Officer can hear what is happening.
When an emergency occurs, every second counts. The few moments that you’re on the phone will undoubtedly seem like an eternity. But know that even though you’re still on the phone with the Dispatcher, emergency personnel have already been dispatched and are on their way to you.
We fingerprint on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. excluding holidays. This service is free for Rockledge City residents and $10.00 for non-residents who work within the city limits of Rockledge. You must supply your own fingerprint card and have a photo I.D. available at the time the fingerprints are taken.

Who is responsible for registering the alarm system?
If an alarm company installs the system, the alarm company is required to register the alarm. If the resident or business owner installs the system, the responsibility then falls upon the resident or business owner.
Come by the Police Department at 123 Barton Boulevard or call Lisa Brady at (321) 690-3213 ext. 3014 to obtain a registration form and a copy of the city ordinance. Complete the form and submit it to Lisa Brady with the $25.00 registration fee.
When should the alarm be registered?
The system should be registered upon activation either by the alarm company or the resident or business owner.
Does the system need to be re-registered each year?
No, it's a one-time fee as long as you remain at the same address; alarm registrations are not transferable to new owners, lessees/lessors or to a new address.
What are considered false alarms?
Any activation caused by negligence, malfunction, or intentional misuse of the system by the owner or his employees, servants or agents or any other activation not caused by forced entry, attempted forced entry or robbery.
Contact our Records Division at (321) 690-3213 ext. 3031 or ext. 3032 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You will need the case number, date and approximate time the report was taken and the reporting officers name if possible.
